Radiostilte – actie voor klimaat film

Hoe overleven we in een wereld die vergaat? Dat is het hoofdonderwerp van de film Radiostilte die gaat over de gevolgen van klimaatverandering.

Wij hebben mee gedaan aan het uitwisselingsproject van Nederlandse en Duitse jongeren over klimaatverandering, samen met Drentse, Groninger en Friese leerlingen en vanuit onze provincie Overijssel. Omdat ik aandacht voor klimaatverandering zo belangrijk vind ben ik er op school mee verder gegaan.

Samen met twee andere leerlingen hebben we als profielwerkstuk een film gemaakt. We wilden namelijk af van het standaard verslag onderzoek, daar hadden we er al te veel van gemaakt. Dus besloten we om een film te maken over klimaatverandering. Wij zagen in dat het een heel belangrijk onderwerp is omdat het onze toekomst betreft. Toch merkten we dat er genoeg mensen in onze omgeving zijn die dit onderwerp helemaal niet belangrijk en interessant vinden. Wij willen daar graag verandering in brengen, ons doel van de film is om mensen te laten realiseren dat klimaatverandering een serieus onderwerp is en dat er nú actie ondernomen moet worden.

Synopsis:

Emily woont in de provincie Utrecht samen met haar moeder, zusje en hond. Als ze op een dag buiten de hond uitlaten krijgen ze een NL-Alert dat de dijken van Nederland zijn doorgebroken, ze moeten vluchten. Ze vluchten samen naar het oosten van het land en belanden in een kamp. Maar er breekt een ziekte uit en Emily’s moeder en zusje worden ziek, Emily moet noodgedwongen het kamp verlaten en alleen verder vluchten naar het oosten. Uiteindelijk belandt ze per toeval in een bunker, waar ze Zoë en Lucas ontmoet. Ze leven samen in de bunker en luisteren via de radio naar het nieuws. Na een tijdje krijgen ze het bericht via de radio dat het buiten niet meer veilig is en dat ze binnen moeten blijven. Ze zijn dan veroordeeld tot zichzelf en moeten met zijn drieën overleven in de bunker.

How do we survive in a world that is ending? That is the main subject of the film Radio Silence, which is about the consequences of climate change.
We participated in the exchange project of Dutch and German young people about climate change, together with students from Drenthe, Groningen and Frisian and from our province of Overijssel. Because I think attention to climate change is so important, I continued it at school.
Together with two other students we made a film as a profile project. We wanted to get rid of the standard report research, we had already made too much of it. So we decided to make a movie about climate change. We recognized that it is a very important subject because it concerns our future. Yet we noticed that there are enough people in our environment who do not find this subject important and interesting at all. We would like to change that, our goal with the film is to make people realize that climate change is a serious subject and that action must be taken now.
Synopsis:

Emily lives in the province of Utrecht with her mother, sister and dog. When they walk the dog outside one day, they receive an NL-Alert that the dikes in the Netherlands have broken, they have to flee. They flee together to the east of the country and end up in a camp. But an illness breaks out and Emily’s mother and sister fall ill, Emily is forced to leave the camp and flee further east alone. Eventually she accidentally ends up in a bunker, where she meets Zoë and Lucas. They live together in the bunker and listen to the news on the radio. After a while they get the message over the radio that it is no longer safe outside and that they have to stay inside. They are then condemned to themselves and the three of them have to survive in the bunker.
